question 7

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

From first creating my school front cover and contents page I feel as if I have learnt many new skills on Photoshop and InDesign. At the beginning of the task I had never used InDesign. I have learnt how to create a double page spread on InDesign, I have learnt how to add a Drop Cap to my information, I also learnt how to import images, make to information in two different block carry on from one another.

I have learnt what type of writing and font I needed to use since my preliminary task, I have changed the type of writing as I leant what best attracted my audience. I found it important to look into my target audience.

question 5 and 6

How did you attract/address your audience?

On my double page spread I have used direct address with the type of language I have use, I have targeted my audience with using the words ‘you’ this engages the viewer making them feel as if they are being spoke to in person. This type of address is very common and useful when addressing my audience. On my front cover and contents page I have used the language of ‘I’ and ‘we’ this makes the viewer feel as if they are being spoken to by the viewer and makes them feel important and I friend of the people in the magazine.  I have mostly used Cursive to make the writing attract to m-y target audience and make them feel comfortable with reading my magazine. I wanted my audience I feel at ease while reading my magazine. Within my magazine I have used direct eye contact to make my viewers notice my magazine more.

what have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Here is some logos of the types of software I have used to create my magazines. I have learnt how to use Sribd, blogger and InDesign. I learnt how to use InDesign in order to make my double page spread so that I could use software like real magazine industries. At the beginning of the course I knew how to use Photoshop however over this course I have develop my skills on this project.

Improved Front Cover

                                                                 Before re-editing

After hearing feedback of my teacher. I needed to tweak my magazine slightly, I have done so and here is my new layout, as you can see I have made the writing on the side more organised and centred. I have also moved the second smaller image into the top left hand corner and added the image into a skyline and board at the top of the page so that the image doesn't look out of place. Another big part of the changes I have made was the masthead. I have changed the font and size of it, in order to fit in with my target audience, I have also changed the main image so that it will relate to my double page spread.
